Princess Hair

Margaret has been growing out her hair and decided to have some fun with it and get it permed. She was really excited about it and had it done yesterday. It didn't quite turn out how she expected. I think it looks great, but husbands opinions don't really count when it comes to hair. Here is what it looked like before the perm:

Margaret thinks she now looks like Mia Thermopolus from Princess Diaries before she had her makeover. You make the comparison and see what you think.

After the perm:

It really does look good, so I hope somebody else makes a comment so Margaret will believe my opinion.

Snow in Southaven

The locals here tell us that it doesn't usually snow like this, so we made the best of it. We let Mary play outside a little bit, but she didn't seem all that interested in the snow. The weather here is pretty sporatic and it was up to 60 degree weather the day after the snow, so it all melted fast. Another funny thing - people stayed home from work, all the schools closed, and nobody was driving on the roads - all because of 3 inches of snow! It definitely wasn't like that in Utah.

Trip to New Orleans

Murray had spring break from school this week so we decided to take a family trip to New Orleans. It was a 6 hour drive, which we only survived because we borrowed a portable DVD player from the Sullengers and Mary could watch her sesame street DVDs. We had a great time on the trip. We stayed at a cool hotel in French Quarter, ate gumbo and jambalaya, had beignets (French doughnuts), walked along the Mississippi river, went to the Audobon Aquarium and toured an old plantation. Mary was a great traveler and we are glad we could go see this interesting city. It was nice because we could walk almost everywhere from our hotel, so we didn't have to drive very much. Here are some pictures from our trip:

This is in front of the Mississippi river where there was a big steamboat:

Here we are at the aquarium with a shark, some fish and a giant turtle behind us:

The buildings in French Quarter (an area in New Orleans) are all really neat:

This is the plantation we toured. They grew sugar and had slave quarters and huge oak trees. The house behind us is over 200 years old:

We also put a bunch of new pictures on our picture gallery (on the right-hand side of our website) so take a look at those.
